Challenge
Visual Radio Assist (VRA) is the OS that lets some of the biggest radio broadcasters in The Netherlands produce, automate and publish visual radio, 24/7. My task was to give it a branding that matches that position.
Problem
VRA was already a complex product. With new features, an evolving positioning and growing design inconsistencies, a broad rebrand across all fronts was needed.
Goal
A consistent, recognizable brand within the industry, and clear communication of everything VRA can do, across print, web, marketing and beyond.
These are visuals of the logo and website before and after the transformation.
Process
The first step was getting to know the product and its users. I worked closely with the team in their office to understand every layer behind VRA.
With the product, brand, industry, audience and use cases clear, it was time to define a strategic brand positioning. How would the story come together on the website, and how should the brand look and feel?
Inspired by the test pattern used in broadcasting, audio waveforms and the physical buttons studios work with, the key visuals came together as a recognizable base for the brand.
